January 2015

ActioNet collected over 200 clothing separates, accessories and a couple suits in support of the American Rescue Workers DC Corps. The American Rescue Workers (ARW) provides emergency shelter, meals, clothing and funding for the homeless and downtrodden within the community. Since June 2004, ARW have been driving to downtown Washington DC, to reach the homeless by serving over 250 meals, coffee and bottles water every Wednesday.

ARW have responded to disasters in Gulfport Mississippi, Metairie Louisiana, Bayou La Batre Alabama, Pahokee Florida, Canton Ohio, Hollidaysburg Pennsylvania, and Williamsport Pennsylvania. Whether it’s cooking and serving a meal for the hungry, helping to sort and prepare merchandise for retail sale, assisting with office work, or organizing a clothing/blanket/food collection, volunteers and donations are helping hands that maintain the American Rescue’s outreach in the long run. This was a great opportunity for ActioNet to help those in need.
