Contract Vehicles: Department of Transportation

Prior to ActioNet teaming with DOT, each program office had put in place its own separate contract for software development. This resulted in duplication of efforts, incompatible technologies, poor information sharing, and cost overruns.

The Department of Transportation (DOT) and ActioNet have formed a strong, mutually beneficial partnership. There is now one centralized contract in place to provide application development, project management, process improvement, and website creation and maintenance.

ActioNet now partners directly with DOT's Office of Information Technology (OIT) to manage these efforts and ensure they are in line with egov initiatives, the President's Management Agenda, and Enterprise Architecture. ActioNet's diverse and talented team carries out DOT's vision of information sharing, leveraging existing IT investments, and developing partnerships; working together with DOT to reduce costs, facilitate the sharing of information, and improve procedures.

All of our solutions are Section 508 compliant and are managed according to our CMMI SE/SW Level 3 procedures. Some of our projects include:

• Enterprise-Wide Asset Management Application – central repository for asset management that also provides key data to many other DOT applications, reducing duplication.
• Administrative/Financial System – Supports the Allocating, Budgeting, Obligating, and Invoicing functions of managing an administrative budget.
• Records Management System – Facilitates the retirement and tracking of federal records.
• Oversight Systems – Assist in managing oversight review activities for DOT's grantees.
• Interagency Web Portal – Provides a central location for information pertaining to the Federal interagency Coordinating Council on Access and Mobility.
