Vienna, VA – ActioNet, Inc. announced today the appointment of Nick Smith as Senior Vice President for National Security Solutions.  A well-rounded leader in Defense and Government Services, Mr. Smith brings 20 years of experience in strategy, new business expansion, mission critical program management, and technology leadership for complex systems of national importance.

Prior to joining ActioNet, Mr. Smith served as Senior Vice President at The Ambit Group, overseeing Ambit’s delivery operations for DoD, Homeland Defense, and Public Safety.  Prior to that Mr. Smith was the Sector President for the Defense Solutions Sector which was part of L-3 National Security Solutions.  During his 19 years at L-3, Mr. Smith held a series of leadership positions with ever increasing responsibility spanning the Defense, Federal Civil and State and Local markets and accounts.  Mr. Smith retired as a career Army Officer, having served in various command and staff positions.

Mr. Smith holds a Masters Degree in Engineering Management from George Washington University and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from the United States Military Academy.
