On Saturday, June 3 the San Diego and Corona teams met at Rancho Jurupa Regional Park for our 2017 Summer Picnic. The event started with a catered BBQ lunch with all of the fixings. During lunch, families caught up and kids ran around chasing bubbles and beach balls. Once everyone was full, both Butch P – Defense Programs – West Director and Mike W – Project Manager thanked all of the employees for their hard work throughout the year. Families were also recognized for their support. A drawing came next for gift cards. The group made their way down to the lake for the 1st Annual Fishing Derby where the coveted trout trophy was up for grab. The fish must have received advance notice of their arrival since only one small catfish fish was caught the entire afternoon. Danielle R’s husband took home the grand prize trophy! Despite the fish not biting, everyone had a great time enjoying the California sunshine and great company.

Rancho Jurupa Regional Park spans over 200 acres and runs along the Santa Ana River in Southern California.

The Corona and San Diego team gathered under the pavilion to feast on a delicious BBQ.

There was plenty of activities to keep the little ones occupied – including bubbles.

The park includes two beautiful three-acre lakes. They’re stocked with trout in the colder months and catfish when temperatures heat up.

Small fish in a big pond? Adam R. was declared the big winner – hooking the one and only catfish for the day.
