ActioNet, Inc. announced that it has been appraised at Maturity Level 3 of the CMMI Institute’s Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI).  The appraisal was performed by ProcessWorks, Inc. with ten strengths noted and zero weaknesses.  An early adopter of the CMMI model as a platform for quality processes and continuous improvement, ActioNet has maintained a Maturity Level 3 Rating through significant corporate growth and infrastructure changes, as well as continuous improvements to the CMMI model itself:

  • 2003: Level 3 rating, Software-CMM
  • 2005: Maturity Level 3 Rating, CMMI-SE/SW
  • 2008: Maturity Level 3 Rating, CMMI-DEV v1.2
  • 2011: Maturity Level 3 Rating, CMMI-DEV v1.3
  • 2014: Maturity Level 3 Rating, CMMI-DEV v1.3

ActioNet maintains a culture of quality processes and continuous improvement, also achieving corporate ISO 9001, ISO 20000 and ISO 27000 registrations, Help Desk Institute (HDI) Site Certification and maintaining a highly skilled workforce with certifications including the PMI PMP, ITIL, and others.

“ActioNet prides itself on continuous innovation and excellence of execution.  One of our core values is to make our customers and each other successful.  This is part of our corporate culture.” said Jeffrey D. Abish, EVP & CTO.

CMMI is the result of more than 20 years of ongoing work at Carnegie Mellon University by members of industry, government, and the Software Engineering Institute. Powered by Carnegie Mellon, the CMMI Institute is working to build upon CMMI’s success, advance the state of the practice, accelerate the development and adoption of best practices, and provide solutions to the emerging needs of businesses around the world.

An appraisal at maturity level 3 indicates the organization is performing at a “defined” level. At this level, processes are well characterized and understood, and are described in standards, procedures, tools, and methods. The organization’s set of standard processes, which is the basis for maturity level 3, is established and improved over time.
