ActioNet, Inc. announced today the award of a 5-year Task Order entitled Air Force Directory Services (AFDS) under the Air Force Network-Centric Solutions (NETCENTS) 2 Application Services Small Business Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract to provide continued development, deployment and maintenance support in the fielding of AFDS. AFDS provides the Air Force near-, mid-, and far-term opportunities in support of Joint Vision 2020, Air Force Task Force Concept of Operations (CONOPS), Air Force Information Strategy Plan and directed requirements for enterprise-level access control, identity management, and information interoperability.  The Air Force Director, Infrastructure Delivery Office of Warfighting Integration and Chief Information Office focuses on identifying cross-community opportunities for leveraging existing systems, eliminating unnecessary functional duplication in existing systems, and identifying enterprise interoperability issues and solutions. AFDS builds secure relationships to support focused areas of web services and identity and access management to provide meaningful interoperability.

About AFDS

AFDS’ mission supports enterprise-level information assurance through the use of information management, information protection and information technology. AFDS provides the critical infrastructure to meet the service goal of “One Air Force, One Network.” AFDS accomplishes its mission by establishing, maintaining and enhancing a full-service Air Force Enterprise Identity Data Directory Service.  AFDS is the single trusted source of Air Force Enterprise authoritative identity data attributes.  Its purpose is to fully automate synchronization agreements between authoritative data sources and to provide Air Force organizations and applications access to this identity data for the purpose of access authentication and authorization for identity management purposes. Currently AFDS aggregates data from multiple authoritative sources and provides these identity data attributes to over 107 different organizations and applications. AFDS is the authoritative source for the E-mail for Career (E4C) persistent E-mail address. AFDS capabilities are deployed on Non-Secure Internet Protocol Router Network (NIPRNET) and Secure Internet Protocol Router Network (SIPRNET).
